Hole sponsored by Springfield Homes

A fairly straightforward opening hole with bunkers strategically placed either side of the fairway to catch any tee shot marginally offline.
A good drive should leave a short iron to a relatively flat green.
Care should be taken in avoiding the large bunker across the centre of the fairway short of the green and also the two greenside bunkers.

Fairway bunkers left and right are ready to catch any less than straight drives. A good tee shot should leave you with a mid/short iron approach. Bunkers guard the entrance to a large elongated green.

This relatively short Par 5 is reachable in 2 shots depending on the direction of the coastal wind. The bunker around 70 yards from the green should be borne in mind as you play your second shot. A ridge running across the fairway short of the green has pot bunkers at either side. A small green running away from front to back makes for a tricky 3rd shot.

A tough driving hole. With whins down the right side and mounds of rough on the left, finding the fairway from the tee is essential. A good drive will still leave you a lengthy 2 shot to a sunken bowl shaped green. Beware of the bunker on the right just short of the green.

The hardest hole on the course. A tough Par 4 that doglegs to the right. The whins and gorse that line both sides of the fairway make an accurate tee shot a must. This will leave a long second shot to a green protected by numerous bunkers short, left and right. Gorse awaits any over-hit approach shots. A bogey is not a disaster on this hole.

The first of the Par 3 holes is played from an elevated tee down to a hollow where the ground slopes from left to right. Anything landing short will kick to the right where a greenside bunker awaits. Missing the green leaves a testing up and down for par.

Probably the toughest driving hole on the course. An uphill tee shot is required to avoid the out of bounds on the right and the thick gorse bushes to the left. Keeping the ball in play is the order of the day. A good drive will leave you a short/mid iron to a green protected by bunkers both left and right.

The long narrow green has bunkers on both sides and it slopes from left to right. The out of bounds ditch lies further right to punish any errant tee shots. The pin position will dictate whether you can use the natural contours of the green.

This hole gets its name from the tarmac road that borders it on the right next to the out of bounds ditch. There are 2 bunkers in the middle of the fairway that will come into play for the bigger hitters. A bunker short on the right makes hitting the fairway imperative. A good drive leaves a straightforward second shot to a fairly flat green guarded by two bunkers. A small valley behind the green makes anything long a challenging chip and putt to save par.

A tough Par 4 where a tee shot down the right gives the best angle to the green but this may bring the out of bounds in to play. The approach shot to an angled green with bunkers left and right is one of the hardest on the course. A Par 4 here is a good score every day of the week.

A short walk past the clubhouse is required to reach the 11th tee. A short Par 4 that may be in range for the bigger hitters depending on wind direction, this hole should give a few birdie opportunities. The narrow entrance to the green is guarded by two bunkers. The cleverly contoured green means being long with the second shot is not recommended.

As the name suggests the green is situated on a plateau and guarded at the front edge by two deep pot style bunkers. It’s a brave golfer who goes for the green on this hole. The sensible play is to lay up and leave a 2nd shot straight up the two tier green giving you the chance of a birdie putt.

A short Par 3 with a heavily protected green. Bunkers left, right and short mean hitting the green is imperative if you are looking to walk off this hole with a par. Be up!

A tough Par 4 with gorse left of the dogleg fairway. A good drive from the slightly elevated tee will leave a mid iron to a large green that slopes from back to front. Avoid the deep bunkers short, left and right of the green.

A spectacular view over the Moray Firth awaits on this tee. A long, intimidating Par 3 hole, where you stand on an elevated tee and drive over a valley with the added hazard of out of bounds on the right. A steep incline short of the green stops any shot running up on to the fairly flat putting surface. A good up and down will most likely be the route to a par on this hole.

The longest hole on the course requires a good straight tee shot to give you a chance of making par on this gorse lined hole. A fairway bunker on the left about 260 yards from the tee is one to be avoided. The hole opens out for the second and third shots. Beware of the bunkers at the entrance to a comparatively flat green.

A drivable par 4 depending on the wind direction. Two deep bunkers across the middle of the fairway short of the green will catch anything that does not quite carry. The shrewd play is to lay up short of the bunkers and leave a straightforward approach shot giving you the chance of a birdie.

Drive to a fairly flat fairway with bunkers either side at about 260 yards. A mid iron second shot to a long two tiered green with bunkers short, left and right. If the pin is positioned on the upper tier then this becomes a very tough closing Par 4.
